The Show
Well last night was the show and if I may say so myself it was a huge hit. We had the place packed with an assortment of family and friends who were all hugely appreciative of all our kills and efforts. The whole Cut and Paste event was brilliant even though we were all incredibly nervous we all stepped up to the plate and did our very best. The first go at Round 1 saw Sammy, Svetlana, Karl and Matt step up, which saw Matt kill his graphics tablet and then Svetlana have problems with her Projector. All ended up with great images I especially liked Matt’s Old Boy oxymoron. Attempt 2 saw Dan, Gina, Aadam and Shaz who all did excellently, Shaz confusing everyone with her intentionally blank. The final attempt was Jordan, Nicole, Francis and I, I was so absorbed in creating my own one that I don’t really know how everyone did. The results are in and through to the next round was Dave, automatic entry from not getting picked in the first round at all, Jordan, Shaz and Me, woooo.
The second round had a bit of twist Mark and Andy decided to surprise us with the fact they were knocking 3 mins off the creating time.Round 2 wasn’t my favourite I didn’t really like my second image so it wasn’t really a huge surprise that I didn’t go through. That honour went to Jordan and Shaz, Shaz’s little orange saying mummy was a moment of pure genius everyone was laughing so much.
The final round commenced with another 2 mins knocked off the time, both of them going strong but eventually it was Shaz who came out the winner. And her prize I hear you ask…
A nice big bottle of champagne!!!!
Overall it was a brilliant night a big huge thanks to Mark and Andy for all their help not just in the show but for everything over the last few years!!!! You will be sorely missed by us all although we may just come by for a bit of CoD in the future!

Double Project at the Show
The last few weeks of stress, problems and hard work most definitely paid off tonight. I was so pleased with the final result of my project the blended face worked so much better than the original blocky effect. I think I got the feathering just right all the features blended into the face about as well as I think i was going to get them. It wasn’t quite as perfect as that of monoface but I think the fact that i used different ethnicity’s making the blending more difficult. For example whenever Aadam’s facial features pop up it looks like someone beat up Matt and gave him a case of severe bruising. The only real problem I had on the night was the sketch had a habit of crashing quite frequently meaning it took about 3 mins for it to load back up again because of all the image being loaded in. I couldn’t figure out why it did this at first but realised it was when people repeatedly pressed the save picture button it was too much for the computer to handle meaning the sketch crashed. I think I should have maybe put a note up or made the save pad a different colour so people knew not to press it over and over again. There are a few things i would have liked to have done differently if I had had a little bit more time. I realised that with using Matt’s face as the background even with female facial features on top the face never looked female. I did attempt to try it with other faces as the background but the features weren’t aligned properly. what I should have done when taking the pictures was to use a tripod and make sure each person was in the exact same position. Another thing I would have liked to do was have more pads so I could change the actual face and possibly the neck and shoulders as well. Cut and Paste
Well today we met at 10am to decide on the themes for our cut and paste style event for our show. We were met with juice, mini donuts and mini cupcakes, way to keep us sweet Mark!!! After much deliberation and quite a bit of fixed voting mainly against me we finally came up with the three themes.
Round 1 : OXYMORON
Round 2 : LOST AND FOUND
Round 3 : IF DOGS COUD SPEAK…
We know have just over 2 weeks to think up and practice the images we want to use. Round 3 is the biggest worry for me at the moment with such an obscure title.
